Services
I feel this is the best option for the majority of dogs and their owners. I want to empower you to have the tools to train your dog and create a program that fits your needs. The best person to train your pup is really you, beginning in your home environment and progressing to the outside world. I want to give you and your dog those skills.
Private, in home lessons
Done in your home, on your schedule.
Group lessons are a great way to work on behaviors your dog knows with the challenge of other dogs in close proximity. Ideally training your dog and playing with your dog should be very similar. If training becomes a game, then your dog doesn’t need to know it’s being trained! The goal of group lessons is to make known behaviors and engagement with the handler stronger. If you are interested in doing a small group lesson with a few friends that can be arranged as well. In most of these cases it would be run more like a private lesson and the prerequisite individual lesson(s) may not be needed.
Group Lessons
A fun way to engage with your dog in challenging settings.
Puppy classes are held spring and fall at the Animal Shelter Martha’s Vineyard. The focus begins with lots of puppy play time and learning obedience commands in a relaxed setting. The value of having a well socialized puppy cannot be understated. Too many dogs end up with behavioral issues that could have been easily avoided by getting off to a good start around other pups and some guidance. Also, the cute factor is off the charts.
