About Jeremy
Jeremy Jones, a native of Martha's Vineyard, embarked on his journey into dog training when he adopted his first canine companion—a 1 1/2-year-old Greyhound/Pitbull mix marked by a tumultuous past, resulting in profound fear and trust issues. Through a remarkable journey marked by patience, kindness, and unwavering determination, Jeremy and his furry friend not only overcame their shared challenges but also thrived, paving the way for Jeremy to extend his help to numerous fosters and adoptees, each presenting their own unique set of obstacles.
Seeking to deepen his knowledge and expertise, Jeremy collaborated with various dog trainers before serendipitously crossing paths with the esteemed master dog trainer and author, Tom Shelby. Over the course of six years, Jeremy apprenticed under Tom, gaining invaluable experience working with a diverse array of dogs across different breeds and life stages, all while honing his skills in guiding both canines and their owners toward a more harmonious coexistence grounded in mutual understanding.
As a perpetual student of his craft, Jeremy remains committed to advancing his dog training education through participation in in-person and online groups, attending seminars, and avidly reading relevant literature. His goal is to streamline and simplify the training process, making it accessible and efficient for both dogs and their owners.
A graduate of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School in 1991, Jeremy furthered his education at George Washington University, earning a B.A. in English. His post-graduation years saw him traversing the United States, residing in Washington DC, Florida, Hawaii, and California, before ultimately returning to Martha's Vineyard. During his extensive career, spanning over two decades, Jeremy also worked as a carpenter.
Beyond his dedication to assisting other people's dogs, Jeremy enjoys spending quality time inventing engaging games with his two canine companions—Reggie, a 13-year-old terrier mix, and Esme, an 18-month-old Blue Heeler. Jeremy is married to horse trainer Annie Parsons.
